Raminta Šuminskienė
Raminta has been leading the Lithuanian Project Management Association (LPVA) for the last 2 years. LPVA is the oldest and most authoritative community of project management professionals in Lithuania, with its mission to promote project management competences on personal, organizational and societal levels.
Raminta holds a Master‘s degree in International Project Management complemented by four modules of the ISM master programme in management. While doing her Master’s degree (2013), she wrote her thesis on the impact of development of competencies in project management on sustainable project management indicators. This led her to continue exploring this issue in her professional life. Currently Raminta is doing the course on Business Sustainability Management at the University of Cambridge, where she has gained the newest insights on how to develop leadership skills and find solutions for sustainable economy.
Raminta also has more than 15 years of professional experience mostly in educational projects with a highly developed interest in the area of social sustainability.
Based on her experience and lessons learned, Raminta considers that overall project management lacks research on sustainability. Sustainability is very topical nowadays and it requires structural and behavioral change. It is well known that change is implemented through projects. She believes that by promoting sustainable project management, we could contribute to achieving the United Nations sustainable development goals.
Since September 2023 Raminta started her PHD journey at the ISM University of management and economics with a deep focus on sustainability leadership in project management.
